Burberry Gallops Forward With a New Logo Showcasing Their Heritage
Burberry has a new logo! Check it out and see a timeline of their logo over the years from 1901 to now.
Burberry has released a new logo under the creative direction of Daniel Lee, their new chief creative officer. It brings back the original emblem from 1901 of the "Equestrian Knight Design" containing the Latin word "prorsum" which means "forward".
Fun Fact: The original galloping horse logo was a winning entry of a public design competition.
They also ditched the sans-serif typeface that has been a huge trend in luxury brands.
While I do love minimalism and clean design, it's refreshing to see a change of direction in this design trend of flat, minimal, sans-serif logos. This new logo has character, history, and I love the bold blue they chose. Basically, I think it's a great rebrand and I love the direction they're going.
Do you think this will prompt other brands to follow suit? Has Burberry started a new design trend? What do you think of Burberry's new creative direction? Tell me your thoughts by commenting on this article on LinkedIn.
